What's inside AI Readiness & Usage Survey

Section 1 — Experience & confidence

How familiar staff are with AI, how confident they feel using it, and where their nervousness sits.

Section 2 — Current usage

Which tools staff are actually using today, in which workflows, and with what data.

Section 3 — Risks & concerns

What worries staff about AI — beneficiaries, accuracy, jobs, ethics — captured without judgement.

Section 4 — Training & support needs

What staff want help with — and the format (live, recorded, written) that would actually land for them.

Section 5 — Opportunities

The tasks staff would most like AI to take off their plate — your prioritisation list, written by the people doing the work.

Analysis framework

How to interpret responses, what patterns to look for, and how to turn findings into a one-page leadership summary.

Avoid the common pitfalls

Skipping the survey

Writing policy without staff input produces a document staff resent and ignore.

Asking only managers

Frontline and admin staff usually have the richest insight — leaving them out skews everything.

Not anonymous

Named surveys produce polite, useless answers. Honest answers need genuine anonymity.

No follow-up

Running the survey and not reporting back kills any chance of a second one.

3

Send it to your team

Want help running and analysing it?

We can run the survey for you, anonymise the responses and present findings to your leadership team — usually as part of an AI Foundations engagement that ends with a board-approved policy and training plan.
